Girls Basketball Skates Past Woodlawn-B.R. with Ease
On Thursday, Southern Lab faced Woodlawn-B.R. in a battle between two of the state's top teams. The Southern Lab Kittens took their match with ease, bagging a 62-23 win over the Woodlawn-B.R. Panthers. The Kittens have made a habit of sweeping their opponents off the court, having now won six games by 20 points or more this season.
Shaila Forman was her usual excellent self, putting up 30 points in addition to eight steals and six boards. That makes it five consecutive games in which she has scored at least a third of Southern Lab's points. The team also got some help courtesy of Asia Patin, who posted 16 points and seven rebounds.
Southern Lab pushed their record up to 11-2 with the victory, which was their sixth straight at home. Those victories came thanks to their offensive performance across that stretch, as they averaged 65.8 points per game. As for Woodlawn-B.R., their loss dropped their record down to 8-3.
Southern Lab will look to defend their home court on Wednesday against Zachary at 5:30 p.m. As for Woodlawn-B.R., a feisty cat fight will be fought when the Woodlawn-B.R. Panthers face off against the Logansport Tigers at 3:15 p.m. on Thursday.
